Can I track my mail?

Currently, we do not offer mail tracking or proof of delivery. Our service operates similarly to dropping a letter into a mailbox, so you will not receive any updates regarding the delivery status of your letter.

If there are any problems with the submitted letter files, address information, or other processing issues, we will refund your payment and notify you via email.

Is PostSeal a reliable service? Would I receive a refund if the submitted letter failed to be delivered?

PostSeal partners with Lob (for US mail deliveries) and ClickSend (for international mail deliveries), both of which are reputable companies. You can "cut the middle man" and use the mentioned services for snail mailing just like PostSeal does.

Letters that fail to be processed are refunded without any evidence from your side. Successfully processed, but failed deliveries are refunded as long as there is any evidence proving it (e.g. a photo of the returned letter or USPS tracking number). Please note that cancellations are not supported and not refunded, so please make sure all the information is correct before submission.

Can I send letters to people in jail or prison?

Absolutely!

Please enter the person's name and prisoner number (this may be called inmate's ID, registration, booking number or similar) into the PostSeal's name field in the letter submission form. If you don't know the person's prisoner number, you should be able to look it up on the institution's website or database. Alternatively, you may be able to find out the number by contacting the jail/prison.

Note that most letters sent to and from jail/prison are checked by their officials. Make sure not to include confidential information or text that you would not want the staff to read.

Do I need to manually enter sender's and recipient's addresses onto my letter files?

No, you do not need to manually enter the sender's (return) or the recipient's (destination) addresses onto the letter files. The details which you enter into the "Your address" and "Recipient's address" web forms are automatically added to your letter.

For destinations within Europe, both the sender's and the recipient's addresses are printed on the front of the envelope. Meanwhile, for letters with destinations outside of Europe, a blank page is inserted and both addresses are printed on that page.

Why is it important to embed fonts in a PDF document and how can I do it?

Why is it important?

Embedding fonts ensures that the created PDF file contains all the font information and "looks" consistent on all smart devices, e.g. tablets, mobile phones, printing servers, etc. Generally, when fonts are missing, a PDF viewer application (e.g. Adobe Acrobat or similar) makes its best guess at font substitution using whatever fonts are available on a particular device. This can result in unexpected differences between your intended output and the printed letter. If fonts are missing, PostSeal will try to embed them, but it is best to have the fonts embedded, in order to avoid unexpected output in your letters.

How can I check if my PDF file has all the fonts embedded?

You do not have to do it yourself. Files uploaded to PostSeal are instantly validated. If there are any unembedded fonts, a warning message listing the missing fonts should pop up at the top of the page.

If you want to make sure that your PDF files have all the fonts embedded before uploading the files to PostSeal, you can do so in your PDF viewer application. For example, in Adobe Reader, go to File > Properties, then click on the Fonts tab. Embedded fonts will have either (Embedded) or (Embedded Subset) after the font name. The steps could vary slightly depending on what application you use for viewing PDF files.

How can I embed the missing fonts?

This also depends on the software you use to create PDF files.

It is quite easy to do on a Mac using Preview. Simply open the file with Preview, go to File > Export as PDF; or go to File > Print > PDF > Save as PDF.

Please ensure your PDF files are in

Letter paper size (8.5 x 11 inches / 215.9 x 279.4mm) for letters within United States.
A4 paper size (8.27 x 11.69 inches / 210 x 297mm) or Letter paper size (8.5 x 11 inches / 215.9 x 279.4mm) for letters outside the US.

All PNG, JPG/JPEG images are scaled to Letter paper size by default. Note that all pages should be in portrait orientation.
